MuckRaker
MuckRaker started in the winter of 2000. Zak had just moved down from Las Vegas and started hanging out with Jon. Jon had a band called POTR and wanted Zak to do back-up guitars...but their styles didn't mix well. So Zak became the singer. They covered some songs and played together alot. Then they met Jay at our middle school (Parkway). He was a year younger then them. Jay played drums and they decided to see how the 3 of them would work out together. They sounded awesome. Then they met Johnny, from the band Sick Sense, and he was a huge influence to them. Their name eventually changed to MuckRaker. No, not Mu Cracker you idiots. :) They wrote their first song together, Breathe, and were in Parkway's recital type thingy...Therefore they needed a bass player. That's where Cris comes in. He played the recital with them and it was awesome. MuckRaker had their first show at Club Q on July 17, 2000. A couple months later, Cris left the band because of a fight with Jon. I know because it was my drumstick that was throw during the fight. heh. High School came around and Jon met Alex in orchestra class. Turns out, Alex played bass, but he was in another band. He left that band for a chance with MuckRaker. Finally, they got a show at the club they always wanted to play at, The Culture Room. They played quite a few shows there. But there was some tension in the band...with their drummer, Jay. So Jon, Zak, and Alex all voted Jay outta the band. It was 6 days before their next show. What the hell were they guna do?!?! Jon's friend he had known for 8 years...Mike, was a drummer, and ended up being in MuckRaker. The show was a success. Since then, MuckRaker has played many shows with alot of different bands, like DWR, Groovenics, Simplekill and more. I've been with them since the beginning of it all. I remember going to all of their rehearsals at Jon's house. Good times...Good times... I am so incredibly happy for these guys. YAY!! Jon, Alex, Mike, Zak...I love you all!! :) No not in that way you freaks...
MuckRaker won a Battle of the Bands at The Factory on December 27, 2002. Among them were about 11 other bands. Great show. The money that they won will go towards recording a new cd. YAY!!
